Ovarian Tissue, Testicular Tissue and Egg Storage
What
are the options available for women who have to undergo treatments that
can render her infertile?
Break-throughs in (Assisted Reproductive Techniques) ART
are allowing women to freeze their eggs or ovarian tissue prior to treatments.
Fertility specialists, Reproductive Endocrine surgeons, can retrieve pieces
of ovarian tissue, freeze them carefully, then transfer the tissue to
the woman when treatments are finished. A specialist, before the start
of chemotherapy/radiation or surgery, could also obtain eggs.
Men can also preserve their fertility by having testicular tissue retrieved, frozen and cryopreserved by a Urologist and then stored with XTS.
XTS has 30 years of experience in the field of cryoperservation
and careful storage of reproductive tissues through its parent company,
Xytex International. XTS can fulfill the long-term storage requirements of these reproductive
tissues; XTS will keep them safe and secure in tanks of liquid nitrogen
with alarm systems until the transfer to the physician is requested.
Please call for further details concerning your tissue storage
requirements.
Tank Rentals
XTS offers a "Tank Rental" service. This allows
you to have your specimens shipped from one location to another. Many
facilities do not have the necessary shipping dewars to be able to fulfill
this need. XTS will send you the necessary forms (click here for Tank Rental Agreement), explain the three way
shipping process and communicate with the facilities involved. Timing
is of the essence when shipping your reproductive tissues; therefore, XTS
is careful to have consent from each facility so that the tank receipt and
transfer will take place in an efficient manner. The cost for this service is $525.00 plus a $700 refundable deposit on return of Dewar.
